About the Project

Love in Lavender is an oral history project to document and preserve the experience of the LGBTQIA+ community.  We are beginning with the community in and around the greater southeastern region of Texas, but hope to continue expanding as funding allows.  The project began under the leadership of Cassandre Durso; historian, instructor of history, and member of the queer community.  You can find her story, as well as that of others, under the "Histories" tab.  All stories have been transcribed for the hearing impaired because we all deserve access to our history.  Thank you for visiting.
